“The Distortion Of Barley”

11″x 15″ Oil Pastel on Cartier Magnani 300lb Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper
This painting started out as a photo session of my niece Chanelle’s new Jack Russell Terrier puppy by the name of Barley. I took a few props with me to her house for the photo shoot, including the 1920’s vintage hat that was the subject matter of “Discarded Beauty”. When Barley had gotten a little sleepy, I gently placed him inside the vintage hat and got some terrific shots. Mucking about with one of those photos with Adobe Photoshop and the idea for “The Distortion of Barley” was born.
